SPJ Solutions VMware Validated Design (VVD) MultiCloud is based on VMware’s VVD reference architecture. The solution includes hardware, software, and professional services to offer a fully functional, compatible, and validated Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) that is capable of deploying and managing workloads on-premise as wells in various clouds (Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform). The SDDC solution enables customers to offer self-service portals to its customers and internal users to provision infrastructure on demand on on-premise data centers and public clouds.

The solution comes with configurations of the physical switches, physical servers, virtualization layer, NSX, vRealize suite, and cloud integration that would otherwise take months of manual work as well as would require skilled individuals. The solution offers an orchestration workflow that allows administrators to deploy infrastructure-on demand on platform of choice – On-Premise, AWS, Azure, and GCP. The pre-configurations, offered as part of SPJ VVD MultiCloud solution, greatly reduces outages, and possible rework.

 

Solution Details

SPJ VVD MultiCloud solution consists of three key components as follows:

 

Hardware: SPJ VVD MultiCloud is validated and certified against Cisco UCS hardware and Cisco 3850 switches for on-premise deployments. The same configurations can be applied to hardware from other vendors, i.e. Dell and HP. The components for the physical servers are compatible with the software to be installed on them. Furthermore, the configurations comply with the VMware Validated Design Reference Architecture. The network configurations include the VLANs, SVIs, and other configurations needed on the physical switches to implement VMware Validated Design SDDC Solution.

 

Software: SPJ VVD MultiCloud includes the software products from the VMware Validated Design Reference Architecture, including vSphere, vCenter, VSAN, vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight. SPJ VVD MultiCloud also includes cITopus, a rapid deployment, orchestration, and automation tool that SPJ Solutions has built. SPJ VVD MultiCloud also includes SPJ developed vRealize Orchestrator workflows that orchestrate deployment of infrastructure into AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Customers can choose to add Site Recovery Manager and/or vRealize Network Insight to the SPJ VVD MultiCloud solutions.

 

Professional Services: SPJ VVD MultiCloud includes professional services to install and configure hardware, software and clouds (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform), including rack and stack, cabling, physical server configuration, physical switch configuration, ESXi and vCenter installation and configuration, vRealize suite installation and configuration using distributed deployment, NSX installation and configuration, cITopus installation and configuration, physical data center and tenant configuration on vRealize automation, blueprint configuration on vRealize Automation, AWS/Azure/GCP deployment and testing, and knowledge transfer.

 

Customers can opt for additional professional services, including expanding the SDDC solution to multiple data centers, migration of customer workload into SDDC, additional blueprint development, deployment of additional NSX topologies, integration with third-party products i.e. Palo Alto Networks and f5, and deployment of Site Recovery Manager.

 

SPJ VVD MultiCloud Value Add from SPJ VVD Standard

 

SPJ VVD MultiCloud solution is an enhanced version of SPJ VVD Standard Solution. The SPJ VVD MultiCloud solution includes pre-built workflows to orchestrate the provisioning of infrastructure on the platform of customer’s choice – on-Premise, AWS, Azure, and GCP. With SPJ VVD MultiCloud, customers can leverage mix of both on-premise and cloud offerings to improve application availability, reduce cost, and improve time-to-market.
